The new evangelization urges Catholics to be joyful in spreading their faith and inviting people back to church. That’s the genesis of a campaign by the Archdiocese of New Orleans to invite inactive Catholics and others back to the fold.
The archdiocese has distributed thousands of cards with the message: “Where Y’at? Come by My House!” to parishes. Parishioners are encouraged to take the cards and hand them out to neighbors and friends who may need a nudge to return to Mass.
The card lists the archdiocesan website (www.arch-no.org) and a QR code that links to Mass times. The message is simple: “Just like stopping by ya Mama ‘n dems, you’re always welcome in the house of the Lord! God is calling us to his eucharistic table at Mass this weekend.
Will you join us?” In his column on page 2, Archbishop Gregory Aymond urges Catholics to reclaim Sunday as a day for God and family.
