Wynhoven officials alerted police after atttack on resident

The Archdiocese of New Orleans issued the following news release regarding an incident at Wynhoven Health Care Center June 27.

We can confirm that an employee of Wynhoven Health Care Center was arrested and charged with simple rape on June 27. The victim is a resident of the facility. Wynhoven employees immediately called the police upon discovery of the incident and are cooperating with police fully in the investigation. Staff have been in contact with the victim’s family and will be informing all resident families of the incident. Family members of residents with concerns are welcome to contact the facility director.

The care and safety of our residents is our first priority. This action is unacceptable and we will not tolerate this kind of behavior from anyone. Our prayers are with the victim and her family at this time.
