Allison Lattie, a New Orleans native, is director of Crossroads, a pro-life ministry that organizes three transcontinental walks across the U.S. each year. She and a group of walkers were in New Orleans July 12 to pray at a site adjacent to the multimillion-dollar abortion clinic now under construction by Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast on South Claiborne Avenue.
“It breaks my heart that Planned Parenthood has the audacity to begin building this in our city,” Lattie told the pro-life crowd. “And, in such a sneaky way, as they do it without any sort of indication that they are putting this here to destroy our children.
Prayer is our greatest weapon against the horrors of abortion, against this culture of death that is attacking this country.” Father Kyle Sanders, parochial vicar at St. Rita Church in Harahan, read Psalm 127, which praises God for the gift of children. “Lord Jesus, change the hearts of all those involved in this building project,” Father Sanders said.
“Give them the grace to see the gift of each human life, no matter the situation of the mother or the situation of the conception. Lord Jesus, we entrust this space to you that you may protect it from the designs of the evil one, who wishes to destroy your beautiful creation.” For more information, go to crossroadswalk.org.
