Ursuline Academy participated in the citywide “300 Angels of Unity NOLA Tricentennial Project” in a big way on May 7. The initiative called on everyone in New Orleans to be an “angel” by wearing wings to school, work and their favorite places throughout the city. As part of the city’s Tricentennial theme of honoring the past, Ursuline Academy participated in the day that the city touted as encouraging citizens to look to the future with optimism and feel “love, hope and eternity.” It was also the day that marked the official birthday of the city. Wendy Jones, special events coordinator at Ursuline, organized the participation of students on campus in the campaign. Two Ursuline students are pictured donning their wings on the Uptown campus during the day.
