Academy of Our Lady Senior Marley Schaefer is following in the footsteps of her mother, Tracey Tourelle Schaefer, a 1990 graduate of Immaculata; and her grandmother, Cheryl Tourelle. All three are extraordinary ministers of holy Communion.
Schaefer, a graduate of Visitation of Our Lady School, was recently commissioned to serve as an extraordinary minister at Academy of Our Lady’s opening school Mass on the feast of the Assumption. Students selected for this ministry help the celebrant distribute Holy Communion at mass. Her mother, Tracy Tourelle Schaefer, is a Visitation of Our Lady Minister of Holy Communion along with her grandmother Cheryl Tourelle who recently retired after 30 years of service to Visitation. Both attended the Mass and commissioning with Marley's father, Merlin, and her paternal grandmother, Merlene Schaefer.
“The Lord is a big influence for Marley," Tourelle said. "I attribute this to her Catholic school education and parents who go to church faithfully.”
“Im a so blessed and so proud of her for following in my mom’s and in my footsepts,” stated mom Tracy, “it means a lot to us.”
