St. Louis IX King of France is the patron saint of the Archdiocese of New Orleans and also is the patron of the archdiocese’s Ninth General Synod.

The archdiocese is seeking input about future goals for ministry. The dates and times of the remaining synod consultative sessions are as follows:
➤ Aug. 2, 1 to 3:30 p.m. (for youth). Mass celebrated by Archbishop Gregory Aymond at 4 p.m., Camp Abbey, 77002 KC Camp Road, Covington.
➤ Aug. 18, 7 to 9 p.m., St. Pius X Parish, 6666 Spanish Fort Blvd., New Orleans.
➤ Aug. 19, 7 to 9 p.m., Mary Queen of Peace Parish, 1501 West Causeway Approach, Mandeville.
➤ Aug. 21, 7 to 9 p.m., Visitation of Our Lady Parish, 3500 Ames Blvd., Marrero.
➤ Aug. 26, 7 to 9 p.m., St. Philip Neri Parish, 6500 Kawanee Ave., Metairie.
➤ Sept. 4, 7 to 9 p.m. (for young adults), Holy Name of Jesus, 6325 Cromwell Place, New Orleans.
