St. Scholastica Academy is the only school in Louisiana to have met the requirements by the American School Counselors Association to become RAMP Certified in 2017, one of only three RAMP-certified schools in Louisiana. The American School Counselor Association (ASCA) named St. Scholastica a Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) school. The RAMP designation, awarded for aligning with the criteria in the ASCA National Model, recognizes schools that are committed to delivering a comprehensive, data-driven school counseling program and an exemplary educational environment. Since the program’s inception, over 700 schools have been designated as RAMP recipients.
“This year’s RAMP honorees have shown their commitment to students and the school counseling profession,” said Jill Cook, ASCA assistant director. “These schools used data to drive their program development and implementation so all students can achieve success. RAMP designation distinguishes these schools and encourages school counselors nationwide to strive for excellence.” St. Scholastica Academywill be honored at a recognition ceremony July 10 at ASCA’s annual conference in Denver, Colorado, for making an exemplary commitment to comprehensive school counseling programs. RAMP applications are reviewed by teams of school counseling professionals. The next submission deadline is Oct. 15, 2017. For details, visit www.schoolcounselor.org/ramp.
