In 2002, Blessed John Paul proposed a new set of rosary meditations called the Luminous Mysteries. These “Mysteries of Light” were the focus of a Living Rosary presented by seventh graders at St. Pius X Oct. 26. (Photos by Beth Donze)
First grader Torey Matieu leads a blue-coded “Hail Mary” as seventh grader Sophia Lorusso holds the mic. Also holding “beads,” from left, are fifth grader Jack Miltenberger and fourth grader Ezra Shirtcliff.
The First Luminous Mystery – re-enacted at left by Brendon Corcoran (as Christ) and Nicholas Klemm (St. John the Baptist) – is “The Baptism of the Lord.”
The Second Luminous Mystery – “The Wedding of Cana” – is dramatized by Sabrina Junius (the bride), Jacob Detiege (the groom) and Dylan Mauberret (the Blessed Mother).
During the Fifth Luminous Mystery – “The Institution of the Eucharist” – the seventh graders huddled around the altar to recall the Last Supper. Earlier in the tableau, Brendon Corcoran, as Christ, washed his apostles’ feet.
