St. Paul’s HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) Club, which encourages careers in health sciences, finished second in a leadership convention, receiving the “Happening Award” as the Outstanding HOSA chapter.
St. Paul’s students earned first place for the HOSA Medical Quiz Bowl (Josh Devier, Ross Hightower, Jacques du Passage, Ben Klein); Public Health (Brennen Calato and Paul Stolin, who earned a $1,000 Scholarship to Johnson & Wales University); Forensic Medicine (Miles Gensler, Klein); Pharmacology (Devier); and Emergency Medical Technician (Jack Grace, Sean Hightower). Teams placed first and second place for Extemporaneous Writing (David Needles, first; Sean Hightower, second) and BioMedical Laboratory Science (Needles, first; Andrew Norlin, second); and second place for Health Care Issues exam (Devier); Biomedical Debate Team (Paul Stolin, Devier, du Passage); Health Career Photography (Norlin); Medical Reading (Hightower); and Researched Persuasive Writing and Speaking (Blake Ramsey).
