The chalice and glove of St. Padre Pio will be on display July 29 at St. Joan of Arc Church, 529 West 5th St., LaPlace.
The Padre Pio Prayer Group of Cleveland, Ohio, is sponsoring the presentation. There will be a Mass celebrated at 4:30 p.m. by Father Terry O’Connell, a priest from Limerick, Ireland, who has custody of the glove.
Mass will be followed by a talk at 5:30 p.m. by Cindy Russo, group leader of the Padre Pio Prayer Group. There will be an opportunity for personal veneration of the chalice and glove after Russo’s talk, which will explain the history of the chalice along with stories of those whose devotion to the Catholic faith has been strengthened.
