St. Charles Catholic announces All-Star Foundation Scholarship Winners

St. Charles Catholic junior Grace Richoux, All-Star Foundation scholarship recipient, alumni and founder of the All-Star Foundation Todd Trosclair, and scholarship recipient senior Wesley Melancon.

Trosclair created the All-Star Foundation Scholarship. A 1977 St. Charles Borromeo High School graduate who was active in sports and clubs, Trosclair is now CEO of All Star Electric, Inc. He attributes his success o education and strong, dependable teamwork and decided to create a scholarship to assist one male and one female student each year who is active, hard-working and involved with their high school tuition. The criteria used in awarding this scholarship focused on the demonstration of the student’s development of the “mind, body, and spirit.”

Junior Grace Richoux and senior Wesley Melancon were named the  2017 All-Star Foundation $1,000 scholarship recipients at a schoolwide Mass during Catholic Schools Week.

These student-athletes maintain a 4.0 GPA and are both involved in school and community-service activities. Richoux has lettered in swimming and track, is a member of the Beta Club, National Honor Society, Art Club and Science Club, is a Special Olympics volunteer and active in her church parish. Wesley has lettered in football, baseball and swimming; is a member of the National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Fellowship of Christian Athletes Leadership Team, and the school’s retreat team, the All-State Academic Composite Team and was recognized as the Chevron Scholar Athlete of the Week.  He also attended the recent March for Life in Washington, D.C., and plans to attend LSU and major in chemical engineering in the fall. 

Trosclair serves as the alumni co-chair of the current “United in Faith Capital Campaign” at St. Charles Catholic High.
