Sister Robert Joseph Mier, O.Carm, 92

Sister of Mount Carmel  Robert Joseph Mier, a native of Rayne, Louisiana, died Sept. 19 at Eastridge Nursing Home in Abbeville, Louisiana.

Sister Robert Joseph was 92 years old and in the 74th year of her religious profession.

She earned a master’s degree in special education and was one of the three founding members of St. Michael’s Special School, where she taught for 40 years.

She was a special teacher for special students. After Katrina, Sister moved to Lafayette, then to Abbeville.
