Academy of Our Lady seniors and four-year volleyball team members Skyla Rousse, Courtney Reed, Hailee Richard and Skylar Turner were honored Oct. 26 at their last home game of the regular season against Belle Chasse High School.
During the volleyball Senior Night, members of the varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams put together gifts for the senior players and were thrilled to honor them. Volleyball Senior Night: Mom Toni Richard, senior and team co-captain Hailee Richard and and her father Leonard Richard. Richard has received numerous honors during her time playing volleyball at Academy of Our Lady including Westbank Quarterback honoree, all-district, all-distrisct most valuable player, most improved player, most valuable player defense, coach’s award, all-academic team and LHSAA all academic volleyball composite team. Richard, undecided on a university, plans to attend college to pursue a degree in nursing or athletic training.
Kristy Reed, senior Courtney Reed, Mark Reed, Cassie Reed and senior Kelsey Reed. Senior Courtney Reed was one of the team’s co-captains this season. She is a four-year letterman. After graduation, Reed plans on attending University of Louisiana Monroe and would like to major in kinesiology.
Tiffany Rousse, senior and co-captain Skyla Rousse, Chad Rousse; Chad Rousse and pre-freshman Hanna Rousse. Rousse has received many accolades throughout her volleyball career at Academy of Our Lady including junior varsity most valuable player, all-district and Quarterback Club outstanding athlete. After graduation, Rousse plans to attend college at the University of Louisiana Lafayette to major in biology or kinesiology.
Senior Skylar Turner was a co-caption, a four-year letterman and plans to attend either Spring Hill College or the University of Louisiana Lafayette. Her goal is become a neonatologist or a pediatrician.
