Sean Goodwin, principal of St. Joan of Arc School in New Orleans

Sean Goodwin, who served as principal of St. Augustine High School in New Orleans from 2014-19, has been named the new principal of St. Joan of Arc School in New Orleans.

Goodwin most recently served as principal of Andrew H. Wilson Charter School in New Orleans. He is certified in administration and teaching, with many years of experience in the classroom and in multiple roles as principal and assistant principal. 

Goodwin has a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from Lemoyne-Owen College in Memphis, Tennessee, and a master’s degree in educational administration from Xavier University of Louisiana.
Goodwin, who is in his 15th year in educational leadership and 21st year in education,  is pursuing a doctorate in education.

“Prior to becoming principal, I had many leadership experiences, including being a mentor teacher, instructional coach, lead reading and math teacher and assistant principal,” Goodwin said. “With all these amazing experiences, I will continue to be a teacher at heart.
“By following in the footsteps of my father and family members, I have dedicated my life to lifelong learning and educating. I intend to be an example to students that we should never stop learning.”
