At the first President’s Assembly of the new school year at Archbishop Rummel High School Sept. 28, Christian Brother Gale Condit, school president, opened the morning by reminding the student body that they “are in the holy presence of God.”
After opening prayers, Brother Gale recognized many students for their work outside and inside the school community. He especially noted the many students who had volunteered during the clean-up following Hurricane Isaac. The President’s Assembly is scheduled monthly in the gym for the entire student body and faculty.
One of the volunteer programs in which Rummel students participated to help those in south Louisiana after the hurricane involved working with the Louisiana Restaurant Association. Five Rummel students – freshman Jean-Paul Jeunesse, sophomore Tyler Massimini, juniors Tyler Mire and Emile Jeunesse and senior Hunter Songy – went to the association’s office to fill boxes of aid that were shipped to families in Braithwaite.
