Tow truck appalling
River Ridge
I was appalled after reading the article in the March 29 Clarion Herald while in church relative to the incident experienced by Sister Beth Mouch (“While she feeds the poor, the city tows her truck”).
I hope you reported this to the bishop as well as to the mayor. Also, the chief of police needs to screen more carefully the people they hire to tow illegally parked vehicles or trucks.
These morons only want to flex their muscles and exert power over the citizens.

Religious thanks
New Orleans
In the name of the sisters, brothers and religious order priests of the Archdiocese of New Orleans, I express sincere gratitude to all of you for your generosity to the December 2013 Retirement Fund for Religious collection. Because of your goodness, I was able to send the National Religious Retirement Office (NRRO) a check for $265,740.75. This donation, added to donations from dioceses across the country, will be distributed to religious congregations to assist in caring for our retired and infirm members.
The sisters, brothers and religious order priests of our archdiocese, young and old, join me in expressing gratitude for your support. Be assured that you are remembered in our prayers and good works. May God bless you and all those you love with peace, love and joy!
