Priests, deacons, religious to celebrate anniversaries

    Archbishop Gregory M. Aymond will celebrate a Mass March 4 at 3 p.m. at St. Rita Church, New Orleans, for 93 priests, deacons, sisters and brothers celebrating anniversaries of their ordination or religious profession.
    Among the jubilarians are former New Orleans Archbishops Francis B. Schulte (60 years as a priest) and Alfred C. Hughes (55 years as a priest).
    As a group, the jubilarians represent 4,440 years of service to the church. Father Douglas C. Brougher, who is celebrating 50 years of priestly ordination, will be the homilist.
    ➤ Celebrating 80 years: Daughter of Charity Sister Catherine Chernick and Sister of the Holy Family Mary Madeline Sophie Jolivet.
    ➤ 75 years: Sister of the Holy Family Mary Bertha Pierre-August and Christian Brother Thomas Ward.
    ➤ 70 years: Marianite Sister Jane Frances Dardenne, Sister of the Holy Family Mary Bertille Hazeur, Jesuit Father Rodney T. Kissinger (profession), Marianite Sister Elizabeth Laborie, Benedictine Father Paul Miranne (profession), Sister of the Holy Family Mary Bertrand Nevue and Jesuit Father Louis A. Poché (profession).
