Preparing for Dalai Lama’s visit to N.O.

Cheryl Landrieu, the wife of New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu, distributes Tibetan “prayer flags” to Archbishop Gregory Aymond, Buddhist monk Tichh Thein Ngo and tourism leader Mark Romig April 20 at the French Market in advance of the May 16-18 visit of the 14th Dalai Lama.  The spiritual leader of global Buddhists will speak at Tulane University’s commencement and also make two major addresses on the theme of  “Resilience: Strength Through Compassion and Connection.” “The message he has is one that we hunger for – one of peace, reconciliation and consolation,” Archbishop Aymond said.
