Prayers and support for St. Paul’s junior football player Michael Doherty were offered at the Wolves’ Nov. 18 playoff football game against Evangel. Doherty suffered a fractured cervical vertebra in a previous game and is convalescing at a Covington hospital where he underwent surgery. Doherty is being monitored for signs of feeling in his legs and will undergo physical therapy when he is capable.
A capacity crowd at Hunter Stadium prayed for the athlete, whose image was displayed on the Wolves’ sideline. Students from St. Paul’s sister school, St. Scholastica Academy, showed their support by wearing T-shirts with praying hands.
