Deacons of the Archdiocese of New Orleans and their wives attended a convocation Oct. 26 at Schulte Auditorium. Archbishop Gregory Aymond, offered a “state of the archdiocese” presentation. Deacon Ray Duplechain, executive director of the Permanent Diaconate Office, introduced the theme of the day, “A Shepherd’s Heart for the Family.” A talk by Dr. Roland Millare of the St. John Paul II Foundation focused on the teachings of Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis on family life and the domestic church.
