On May 18, priests, administrators, faculty and staff at St. Clement of Rome took part in “Ready, Set, Wear It!” – a national campaign to help children and adults understand the importance of wearing a life jacket while boating.
Assisted by members of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, teachers donned orange life jackets to greet students in the morning carpool line (far left) and devoted the morning assembly to the vests’ proper use. “Frequently we see young children in life jackets, but their parents are not wearing them,” noted Jim Vass, the Coast Guard Auxiliary’s national commodore.
At left, Father Luis Rodriguez, pastor, and Helen Roussel, coordinator of religious education, show their support.
At right, Father Peter Finney, parochial vicar, has his vest adjusted by assistant P.E. teacher Milene Miranti.
