Charol Armand has been named principal of Our Lady of Prompt Succor School in Chalmette.
Armand has more than 14 years of experience as a professional educator in the Archdiocese of New Orleans, having taught first and fourth grade and most recently serving as assistant principal and curriculum coordinator at Our Lady of Prompt Succor.
After earning a master’s degree in counseling, Armand began her career as a clinical instructor at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. She spent a few years in public secondary education before finding her niche in Catholic elementary education.
Armand strives to model the value of lifelong learning through participation and membership in various educational programs. While serving on external review committees with AdvancED, she gained valuable knowledge on how to meet the needs of students in the 21st century.
As curriculum coordinator at OLPS, she was responsible for the implementation of the school’s blended-learning program, which fosters individualized instruction so that students are able to reach their full potential.
“I am proud and excited to have the unique opportunity to serve as principal of my children’s alma mater, in the community where I was born and raised,” Armand said. “Our Lady of Prompt Succor, like most schools, will experience unprecedented challenges in the year ahead, but with the commitment and dedication of our talented, enthusiastic and well-prepared faculty and staff, we will meet those challenges head on. I look forward to serving as the academic and spiritual leader where faith, family and knowledge are our guiding principles.”
