Office of Worship sets dates for Choral Reading Sessions on 'Mass of Renewal'

In preparation for the implementation of the 3rd Edition of the Roman Missal, the Office of Worship of the Archdiocese of New Orleans has scheduled a series of Choral Reading Sessions where music directors, instrumentalists, choir directors and others involved in music ministry can gather to learn and sing the “Mass of Renewal.”

The “Mass of Renewal” is the musical setting which is recommended for use at all Sunday and special liturgies beginning Oct. 1.

The sessions will be held in the following locations:

Sept. 6, 7 p.m., Resurrection of Our Lord, 9701 Hammond St., New Orleans;

Sept. 10, 10 a.m., St. Edward the Confessor, 4921 West Metairie Ave., Metairie;

Sept. 12, 7 p.m., Mary, Queen of Peace, 1501 West Causeway Approach, Mandeville;

Sept. 17, 10 a.m., St. Margaret Mary, 1050 Robert Blvd., Slidell;

Sept. 19, 7 p.m., Immaculate Conception, 4401 Seventh St., Marrero.
