Catholic evangelist Matthew Kelly spoke to 1,000 people at St. Dominic Church March 10 and emphasized the hidden grace of silence and prayer as vital ways to draw closer to God.
Kelly used the example of a driver with a car-full of people suddenly facing a road hazard ahead; the driver immediately asks for silence to focus on the danger.
In the same way, Kelly told his audience, Catholics need regular, quiet time to hear the voice of God above the cacophony of the world.
