Mary’s Way of the Cross moves crowds

A Way of the Cross from Mary's perspective was presented April 6 at Holy Guardian Angels Church in Bridge City. Sponsoring the event was the bilingual San Pucce Community Servants of Mary that meets the third Sunday of the month at 2 p.m. at Visitation of Our Lady Church in Marrero. "Jesus, send your spirit so these Stations of the Cross will come alive in our hearts," said Deacon Carlos Ramirez, who narrated the hour-long presentation with Maria Isabel Bertot reciting the reflections of Mary for each station. Bertot is the coordinator of Servants of Mary. Other actors included: Mida Lara, who portrayed Mary; Rafael Mateo, Jesus; Walter Bertot, the guard; Carmen Hernandez, Veronica; Jose Hernandez, Simon; Jose Garcia, John; Olga Hernandez and Gladys Henderson, the two other Marys.
