Raider Pride shines: Rep. Scalise dons red blazer as alum of the year

On March 26 at Archbishop Rummel High School, U.S. Rep. Steve Scalise (Rummel Class of 1983), was recognized as Alumnus of the Year by the school. The House Majority Whip was introduced by fellow alumnus Tommy Cvitanovich ’77. Following the presentation of his red Raider jacket, Scalise was congratulated by Archbishop Rummel students Michael McLaughlin, Evan Francioni, Colin Womac and Dawson Mire. During the same Rummel Day program, longtime faculty member Isaac Musselwhite was award the Raider Legend award by the alumni association.
New young Catholics at St. Rita School, New Orleans

At a St. Rita (New Orleans) School Mass on March 22, three students were welcomed into the Catholic Church community by Father Peter Finney. Saudia Martin, a second grader, was baptized in the presence of her classmates.
Carter Kennedy, a fifth grader who had been baptized in an emergency situation as a child, and his sister Lucy, a seventh grader – the grandchildren of Deacon Mixie Arcuri, above right – were welcomed into the church.
