KPC Auxiliary Court 394 awards scholarships

Since 2014, Knights of Peter Claver Auxiliary Court 394 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church has awarded $9,600 in scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are parishioners. In 2018, the ladies auxiliary awarded seven $500 scholarships. Two recipients received scholarships that were fully funded by individual parishioners. The individual donors were Fernando and Allison Mitchell, in honor of Mr. Mitchell’s deceased mother, Virginia L. Mitchell, and Anita Schon, a long-time supporter of the auxiliary and parish. The scholarship winners were Junior Grand Lady Raven McClendon (who will attend Grinnell College); Jermance Webb, a former Junior Knight of Peter Claver (Alabama A&M); Jardyn Daniel (Jackson State); Gabrielle Delahoussaye (University of Dallas); Dennis Guillot (University of New Orleans); Tia Peck (Louisiana State University) and Christina Vasquez (Xavier University of Louisiana).
