Academy of Our Lady Key Club was recognized Nov. 17 at the Kiwanis Club of Algiers Service Leadership meeting for placing first in a charity fundraising competition. The competition, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Algiers, raised money for each club’s respective signature charity by selling and connecting individual paper strips to make a spirit chain. Academy of Our Lady raised $126 on behalf of Children’s Hospital. The Kiwanis Club of Algiers donated the picture book “Mouse Soup” to the Algiers Library Children’s Department to commemorate the Academy of Our Lady Key Club’s fundraising performance.
