Sister of the Holy Faith Mairead (Mary of the Rosary) Langley, who lived and ministered in California and in Arabi for more than 55 years, died Oct. 21 in Ireland.
Sister Mairead was a teacher and a principal in many elementary schools, including St. Robert Bellarmine in Arabi. She taught religious education classes and established many charismatic prayer groups. Sister Mairead had a particular empathy for the sick and the poor and performed charitable outreach in a very quiet and unobtrusive manner.
Sister Mairead was preceded in death by her sister Nuala and her brothers Jarlath, Brendan and Enda. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Gwen, her nieces and nephews, the Holy Faith Sisters, her many friends and former colleagues.
