Our Lady of Holy Cross College’s Nursing Program recently received the prestigious Nightingale Award as 2014 Nursing School of the Year Entry Into Practice Program from the Louisiana State Nurses Association.
“OLHCC’s Nursing Program has long been recognized as a leading program in the state, based on high scores of our graduates on the national licensing examination,” president Ronald J. Ambrosetti, Ph.D., said.
A national panel of knowledgeable judges made the selection based on a variety of quality and innovation criteria, including passage rates on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses.
“OLHCC’s Nursing Program has more than 900 graduates working in nursing positions throughout the New Orleans area,” said Patricia M. Prechter, EdD, MSN, RN, nursing professor, provost and Department of Nursing and Allied Health chair. “Our faculty work hard to attain highest standards of academic quality and training that prepare nurses for excellence in serving patients. This award recognizes these efforts.”
OLHCC offers a bachelor’s degree in nursing and an online RN to BSN program. For details, call 394-7744.
