Greater New Orleans Youth Orchestras, which brings together young musicians from around the New Orleans area, will host its third annual Summer Orchestras Program on Tuesday evenings, June 19-July 24, at Loyola University New Orleans.
The orchestra, directed by Dr. Jean Montes, will perform a free public concert July 31 at 6:30 p.m.
No audition is needed to participate. Placement in the orchestra is based on proficiency.
Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis and is open to students who play violin, viola, cello, bass, harp, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, trumpet or trombone.
Tuition for the program is $150 (if registered by April 29) or $175 if registered after April 29. There is a $15 registration fee.
The GNOYO also will offer a Summer Music Festival June 4-8 in collaboration with the Loyola University College of Music and Fine Arts.
