St. Mary’s Dominican High School held its fifth annual multicultural festival recently that highlighted the vast diversity of song and dance among cultures of the world. Students Andrea Garces and Samantha Siliezar, above, performed a Mexican folklore dance, “El Son de la negra.”
Below, student Jhané Garner danced while Courtney Gonsoulin sang “Hallelujah.” The St. Mary’s Dominican Multicultural Club sponsored the pageantry of traditional dress and performances. The program opened with a Chinese dragon procession, followed by dances from India, Korea, Mexico, Latin America (salsa), Angola, Africa (kuduro) and the U.S. (break-dancing/techno).
