The archdiocesan Vocations Office has launched the first in a series of six videos for the Fridays of Lent that illuminate the work and ministry of priests and the importance of all faithful saying "yes" to their vocations in the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
Each new video – posted to the Facebook page of the Vocations Office (
@nolavocations) will be released on a Friday during Lent, said Father Colm Cahill, director of vocations for the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
The first video profiles the ministry of Father Andrew Gutierrez, parochial vicar of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Metairie.
Check back every Friday to find out which priest will be profiled next.
“These are going to be 2 1/2- to three-minute videos, which are going to give some insight into what it means to be a seminarian, what their life of prayer looks like and also what the day or the life of a priest looks like,” Father Cahill said.
Father Cahill asked those who view the videos to share them with a wider audience on social media.
