For decades, extraordinary ministers of holy Communion have been assisting at Mass. Every year, St. Paul’s School in Covington selects several rising seniors to serve in that liturgical role.
In the spring, I along with other high school ministers on the northshore attended a workshop and learned the importance of our role and what is expected of us. During the summer, we served at Mass at St. Paul’s Our Lady of Peace Chapel. Other students were lectors and offered the Prayers of the Faithful.
When the new school year began, we were ready to serve at all school Masses during the year.
For the rest of the 2019-20 academic year, my fellow ministers and I will be on a mission to spread the Word of God to St. Paul’s and our community.
