Night Out against Crime draws crowd
The Dominican Sisters of Peace grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and organized volleyball games and a bean bag toss at their second annual Night Out Against Crime event Oct. 18 at their Marleyville/Gert Town Peace Center location at 2837 Broadway St. in New Orleans.
Neighbors stopped by to participate as did seminarians from nearby Notre Dame Seminary. The Peace Center is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and offers homework assistance for students up to seventh grade, computer classes for adults, meals and activities for seniors as well as field trips and job-readiness skills. For details, call 267-3342.
