St. Mary’s Dominican High School honored spring student athletes with the 2018-2019 Lou Reilly Memorial Awards for continually try to improve their skills and who have listened to their coaches and teammates. Each recipient was recognized for encouraging those playing while she is not in the game, and, when playing, giving her full effort at each moment. The student athletes themselves have a nominating vote in the selection of the award, while the final decisions are left to the discretion of the coaches. From left are:
Louisiana High School Athletic Association All-Academic Scholars Program honorees were (from left) Marian Boyd, Elizabeth Messonnier, and Cameron Wall – Class 5A Track & Field Team; and Haley Williams – Division 1 Tennis Team. The award is presented for outstanding academic achievement by maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher during the recipient’s academic career while participating in varsity high school athletics.
Colette Carrier and Elise Cresson received the Army Reserve National Scholar Athlete Award. The award is given to outstanding seniors in athletics, leadership, and academic excellence.
