The award is presented for exemplary academic achievement by student athletes for maintaining the highest GPA over six semesters while participating in varsity high school athletics.

This award is named after Lee Fernandez de la Reguera Pittman, class of ’51 and member of the state basketball championship team who demonstrated extraordinary support of Dominican’s athletic program and exemplified the highest level of Dominican team spirit. The awardees exhibit great athletic ability, strong character, a positive attitude, leadership by example through passion, encouragement and true love of the game. This award is voted on by the entire coaching staff at Dominican. Five senior athletes at Dominican were presented end-of-the-year athletic awards: Kelsey Major also received the Scholastic Award, presented to the senior who has participated in at least two varsity sports each year and has the highest cumulative GPA.
