The St. Mary’s Dominican High School Debs captured several wins at the American All-Star Louisiana State Dance Competition in Lafayette, advancing to the Universal Dance Association National Competition in Disney World. Three soloists won awards: Katelin Obletz, second place overall, grades 6-8; Rylie McClusky, second place overall, grades 9-10; Maddie McGovern, second place, grades 11-12. In duets, captains Maddie McGovern and Virginia Babin won second place. The Debs’ hip hop ensemble earned second place, and the jazz ensemble earned fourth. In team Division III, hip hop earned first place, second overall state, and the choreography and technique awards; pom won first in division, second in state; and jazz won second in division, third in state.
