Deacon Gerard “Gerry” J. Fasullo Sr., a deacon at St. Edward the Confessor Church in Metairie for 26 years, passed away Aug. 8. He was 86.
Deacon Fasullo was a graduate of Holy Name of Jesus Elementary School, Jesuit High School and attended Loyola University. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Japan and Korea. Ordained in 1991, he served at St. Edward the Confessor through his retirement.
He is predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Mary Louree Fasullo. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Adele Bravo; a son, Gerard J. Fasullo Jr.; and grandchildren Kyle A. Fasullo, Michael J. Bravo, Patrick J. Bravo and Ryan J. Bravo.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Edward the Confessor on Aug. 25. A private burial took place at St. Patrick Cemetery No. 2.
