Seeking to expand its 56-year-old basketball tournament to the northshore, the Catholic Youth Organization has added Archbishop Hannan’s gymnasium as one of four sites for its 2012 games on Nov. 28-Dec. 1.
Sponsored by the Allstate Sugar Bowl since 2008, the CYO tournament has increased its field to 16 teams with games scheduled to be played at Brother Martin, Jesuit, Archbishop Rummel and Archbishop Hannan on Nov. 28-29. The semifinal and final rounds will be played at Holy Cross on Nov. 30-Dec. 1.
The field includes twice-defending champion St. Augustine, Jesuit, Brother Martin, Holy Cross, Archbishop Rummel, Archbishop Shaw, Archbishop Hannan, St. Charles Catholic, St. Paul’s, St. Thomas Aquinas, East St. John, Bonnabel, Sophie Wright, Newman, Edna Karr and Northshore.
