The Archdiocese of New Orleans has announced schedules of Masses at business district churches for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
➤ ST. LOUIS CATHEDRAL: Dec. 24, Christmas Vigil Mass at 5 p.m., preceded by carols at 4:30 p.m. Doors will reopen at 11:15 p.m. in advance of the Mass at Midnight, with prelude music performed at 11:30 p.m. by the St. Louis Cathedral Choir under the direction of Dreux Montegut. Archbishop Gregory Aymond will celebrate the Mass, which will be televised live beginning at midnight on WLAE-TV and live-streamed at nolacatholic.org. Tickets are not required. Masses Christmas Day will be at 9 and 11 a.m.
Masses for the Solemnity of Mary will be Dec. 31, 5 p.m. vigil, and Jan. 1 at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
➤ OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE CHURCH, 411 N. Rampart St.: Dec. 24, confessions 11 a.m. to noon; Christmas Vigil Mass at 4 p.m. (children’s liturgy). Doors will reopen at 10:30 p.m. There will be Christmas carols prior to Midnight Mass beginning at 11:30 p.m. Dec. 25, Masses at 7:30, 9:30 and 11:30 a.m.
➤ IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH (JESUITS), 130 Baronne St.: Dec. 18, Lessons & Carols at 4 p.m. Dec. 24, 8 a.m. Mass of the Day, no confessions; Christmas Vigil Masses at 4 and 6 p.m. Concert of sacred Christmas Music at 11:30 p.m. and Midnight Mass of the Nativity. Dec. 25, Masses at 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m. There will be no 7:30 p.m. Mass, confessions or devotions. Week of Dec. 26, regular Mass and confessions schedule; rectory office closed Dec. 23-26. Dec. 31, Mass of the Day at 8 a.m., confessions at 3:15 p.m.; Vigil Mass for the Solemnity of Mary at 4 p.m., and on Jan. 1, Masses at 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m.; no evening Mass, confessions or devotions.
➤ ST. JOSEPH CHURCH, 1802 Tulane Ave.: Dec. 25, Midnight Mass (carols begin at 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 24); and 10 a.m.
➤ ST. PATRICK CHURCH, 724 Camp St.: Christmas Vigil Masses (English) with carols at 4 and 5:30 p.m. (No midday Mass.) Doors open at 9 p.m. with music beginning at 9:15 p.m. with St. Patrick choirs, followed at 10 p.m. by the Solemn High Mass of Midnight (Latin Mass). Choirs will sing J.L. Eybler’s “Missa Sancti Alberti.” Dec. 25, Masses (English) at 9:30 and 11 a.m. (There will be no 8 a.m. or 5:30 p.m. Masses.) Security will be provided on Christmas Eve. Masses for the Solemnity of Mary will be 5:30 p.m. vigil Mass on Dec. 31; and on Jan. 1, at 8, 9:30 (Latin) and 11 a.m. (ordinary form); and 5:30 p.m. Confessions before all Masses, ending 15 minutes prior to Mass.
