The Archdiocese of New Orleans has announced schedules of Masses at business district churches for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
➤ St. Louis Cathedral: Dec. 24, Christmas Vigil Mass at 5 p.m., preceded by a concert and carols at 4:30 p.m. by the St. Louis Cathedral Boychoir, under the direction of Dreux Montegut. Doors will reopen at 11:15 p.m. in advance of the Mass at midnight, with prelude music performed at 11:30 p.m. by the St. Louis Cathedral Choir under the direction of Dreux Montegut. Archbishop Gregory M. Aymond will celebrate the Mass, which will be televised live beginning at midnight on WLAE-TV, Channel 32. Tickets are not required. Masses Christmas Day will be at 9 and 11 a.m.
Masses for the Solemnity of Mary will be Dec. 31, 5 p.m. vigil; and Jan. 1 at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
➤ Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 411 N. Rampart St.: Dec. 24, Christmas Vigil Mass at 4 p.m. (children’s liturgy). Doors will reopen at 10:30 p.m. There will be Christmas carols prior to Midnight Mass beginning at 11:30 p.m. Dec. 25, Masses at 7:30, 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.
➤ Immaculate Conception Church, 130 Baronne St.: Dec. 24, Christmas Vigil Mass at 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and Midnight Mass of the Nativity. Dec. 25, Masses at 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m. There will be no 4 p.m. Vigil Mass and no confessions on Saturday or Sunday. Caroling begins 20 minutes before all Christmas Masses. Masses for the Solemnity of Mary will be Dec. 31, 4 p.m. vigil, preceded by confessions at 3 p.m.; and Jan. 1 at 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., with confessions at 7 p.m.
➤ St. Joseph Church, 1802 Tulane Ave.: Dec. 25, Midnight Mass and 10 a.m.
➤ St. Patrick Church, 724 Camp St.: Christmas Vigil Masses (English) with carols at 4 and 5:30 p.m. Doors open at 11 p.m. with music beginning at 11:15 p.m. with St. Patrick Choirs, followed by Solemn High Mass of Midnight (Latin Mass) with choirs and orchestra. Dec. 25, Masses (English) with carols at 9:30 and 11 a.m. (There will be no 8 a.m. or 5:30 p.m. Masses.)
