The Archdiocese of New Orleans presented Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts with awards for their service over the past year at an April 6 ceremony at Transfiguration of the Lord Church in New Orleans.
Archbishop Gregory Aymond was also honored with the national St. George Emblem for his support of Catholic scouting.

The “Cathedral Medal” for adult leaders was presented by the Catholic Committee on Scouting to Elizabeth Kraft, who has been involved in Catholic scouting for seven years, and to Rod Trahan Jr., a second-generation member of the scouting committee whose father, Rod Trahan Sr., was a past chair. Trahan prepares committee retreats and has served as a counselor to Ad Altare Dei and Pope Pius XII award candidates.
Archbishop Aymond was presented with the St. George Emblem in recognition of his extraordinary support and promotion of the faith to Catholic scouts.
