ST. EDWARD THE CONFESSOR, Family Day Sept. 22, picnic-style lunch in cafeteria beginning at 11 a.m. Bring dessert to share. Donation: $5 a family appreciated. Inflatables, balloon toss, free-throw basketball, football contests. Knights of Columbus hosts soccer challenge for boys and girls ages 9-14 on back field. Bingo in cafeteria. Day ends with 4 p.m. Mass. 40 Days for Life all-night adoration vigil beginning at 10 p.m. on Oct. 10 through 6:45 a.m. on Oct. 11. The parish will participate in sidewalk prayer vigil at 4636 South Claiborne Ave. Oct. 11 from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Also, annual rosary procession for life and peace Oct. 6, 11 a.m. around the neighborhood.
