The professional choir RED SHIFT presents Joby Talbot’s “Path of Miracles,” the inaugural concert project of the choir’s 2017-18 season. “Path of Miracles” is multi-movement masterwork for 17-part advanced unaccompanied choir. It was composed in 2005 as a musical depiction of the medieval pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. Red Shift, a Baton Rouge-based choir comprised of Louisiana artists, will present the New Orleans debut of this work Oct. 27 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Anna’s Episcopal Church, 1313 Esplanade Ave., and its conductor, Dr. Trey Davis who also is associate director of choral activities at Louisiana State University, will present a pre-concert lecture at 6 p.m. Tickets are available in advance at www.redshiftchoir.org and at the door.

PETER, music ministry hosts eighth annual “Songs of Comfort for the Holy Souls,” Nov. 2, 7 p.m. An hour of Blessed Sacrament adoration with songs of comfort offered in prayer for holy souls who have died and those who mourn them. Music by the parish’s adult choir and Schola Cantorum, highlighted with excerpts of Gregorian chant from the “Requiem Mass,” the Rutter “Requiem” and other songs accompanied by organist, Christian Brother Ken Boesch.
