    DAY OF PRAYER AND FASTING, Louisiana’s bishops encourage Catholics statewide to observe June 7 as a Day of Prayer and Fasting for protection from hurricanes.
    BARBECUE DINNER/SHOW, fund-raiser June 8, 6 p.m. for SoulSpirit, the Pop Christian Guitar group that performs at the Sunday 7 p.m. Mass at Visitation of Our Lady.     ST. PETER, Vacation Bible School, June 10-14, 8:30 a.m.-noon, “Son West Roundup,” open to children entering kindergarten through fourth grade. Participants will rotate to stations offering skits, music, arts and crafts, Bible stories, drama, indoor and outdoor games. Cost is $30 a child or $75 max for families.
