OTHER
SERVE, Students Engaging in Reflective Volunteer Experiences, a summer service program for high school students to give back to the community and achieve service hours required by many parochial high schools. It is offered through Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans. SERVE is offered on both the Northshore and the Southshore. Sessions run for four weeks with 40-hour sessions or a 15-hour session. Northshore SERVE is two, 40 hour, one-week sessions running for two weeks. SERVE sites include day camps and a food bank. Students must be incoming freshmen through seniors. Registration is non-refundable – $25 for SERVE, $15 for Mini-SERVE. Registration is open now until full. All participants will receive a T-shirt. ST. DOMINIC ROSARY ALTAR SOCIETY, recently installed these officers for the 2017-19 term: Geri Landry and Mary Reynolds, co-presidents; Annie Chaisson, vice president; Pat Lassalle, recording secretary; Marie Held, corresponding secretary; Elaine D’Amico, treasurer. The Rosary Altar Society maintains and beautifies the sanctuary, sacristy, nave and narthex.
