DOES GENDER REALLY MATTER? International virtual seminar that cracks open the gender question for catechists and youth ministers, July 9 and 16, 10 a.m.-noon. Receive help to articulate the Church’s teaching on our creation as male and female, as well as guidance and resources for formulating responses to pastoral questions coming from science, human rights and personal struggles with gender dysphoria. The first session is centered on the Gospel of Matthew 22, and July 16 details gender theory. FINDING THE PASSION OF CHRIST IN OUR STORY, Thursdays, July 14-Sept. 22,  7 p.m. This is a 10-week grief study group for couples who have experienced the loss of a child at any age and any circumstance including abortion, stillborn, miscarriage or as an infant, child, adolescent or adult. MERCY FAMILY CENTER, inaugural “Catfish, Corndogs and Cornhole,” July 23, with cornhole toss tournament starting at 8 a.m., with lunch served at 11 a.m. Lake Pontchartrain Basin Maritime Museum, 133 Mabel Drive,  Madisonville.
