GOOD SAMS, Stepping Stones Ministry, needs volunteers for its relationship management program where families who need guidance for stability are helped by a community volunteer willing to meet weekly (an hour or two) to help them. Advocates have a team of resource managers at their disposal to help clients make a plan. The advocate’s role once the plan is made, is to help the client stick to it. Criteria for advocates: the desire to help a family grow in good decision making to make positive steps towards change. ONGOING BABY SHOWER, ACCESS Pregnancy and Referral Service hosts virtual baby shower. Participants go to Walmart.com, click on “Baby Registry,” and type ACCESS in first and last name fields, then select items that ACCESS most needs for its clients such as large-size diapers, wipes, baby clothing in three- to 12-month sizes and either ship them to ACCESS’ Metairie location at 921 Aris Ave., or go to Walmart, purchase the items and drop them off.
