ST.  JOSEPH ALTAR LECTURE, Jan. 27, 10 a.m.-noon; 2-4 p.m.,  St. Tammany Parish Library, 1123 Main St., Madisonville. Sandra Scalise Juneau demonstrates carving “Cuccidata” (fig cake designs) technique, shows video of vintage St. Joseph altars while tracing the history and symbolism of this tradition brought to Louisiana by Sicilian immigrants. PEACE PRAYER WALK, monthly neighborhood walk sponsored by the Archdiocese of New Orleans’ offices of Racial Harmony, Justice and Peace and Catholic Charities’ Isaiah 43 program. ST. PETER, Covington, Feb. 2, 8:30 a.m. Mass, celebrates Feast of the Presentation of the Lord (Candlemas Day) with a solemn procession and blessing of candles to represent the entry of Christ, who is the light of the world, into the Temple of Jerusalem. Bring candles to be blessed for in-home usage.

ST. EDWARD THE CONFESSOR, annual Super Bowl all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, Feb. 4, 8 a.m.-noon, in cafeteria, 4921 West Metairie Ave., Metairie.
